Vizlib Sankey Chart

Vizlib Sankey Chart is a highly customisable, supported and easy-to-use extension for Qlik Sense which gives you the unique ability to intuitively create and visualize flows and splits between your data.

Officially accredited Extension by Qlik
Supporting one measure and multiple dimensions, a Sankey chart is a specific type of flow diagram, in which the widths of the links represent the metric volume going from one dimension to the other. Vizlib's Sankey Chart is your go-to extension to create beautiful dashboards and charts based on your own data. By controlling the formatting, display, interactivity and labeling, the Vizlib Sankey Chart introduces another powerful and supported visualisation to the Qlik ecosystem.

Vizlib allows you to focus on what you are best at: creating compelling visualizations and dashboards without writing a single line of JavaScript code or introducing silly work-arounds.

Vizlib Sankey Chart

  • Show [Always|Conditional]
Gives you the ability to specify a conditional expression which show or hides the dimension in the Sankey chart.
  • Node Color
Gives you the ability to specify one color for the dimension, overriding any global color settings. You can also specify the sankey color using a Qlik expression (has to be HEX).
  • Node Label
Show or hides the dimension label on the dimension nodes
  • Node Value
Show or hides the measure value for the dimension nodes
  • Group Nodes
Enables grouping to join multiple dimension values into groups
  • Group Nodes- List
Manually create a group based on a list of comma separated dimension values, e.g.:
    Group = EU
    Dimension Values = Spain,UK,Italy,Poland
  • Group Nodese - Conditional
Creates groups based on a Qlik expression output.
Measure Settings

Vizlib Sankey Chart

  • Value formatting
You have the ability to specify and customize your number formatting options.

3.3 Data Handling

The Vizlib Sankey Chart supports suppression of zero values and overall calculation conditions.

Vizlib Sankey Chart

  • Data downloading
Gives you the ability to pre-define the amount of data that is downloaded for the particular combination of dimensions and measures. By default, this is limited to the first 5000 rows.
  • Suppress Zero Values
This setting will suppress rows in the Sankey Chart which are only 0's.

Vizlib Filter

Sankey Settings

Vizlib Filter

  • Max Nodes per Dimension
To avoid displaying too many nodes on the Sankey Chart which could clutter the visualisations, you can here limit the number of maximum nods displayed per dimension.
  • Color Mode [Blend|Solid]
Choose whether you wish the links/flows of the sankey to either have a solid color, or inherit the colors of the nodes it connects to and blend the two colors for a seamless gradual transition.
  • Links Opacity
Change the opacity of the links.
  • Font Family
Update the font family for all text elements on the Sankey Chart.
Nodes Styling

Here you have the ability to style the nodes of the Sankey Chart (Dimension tiles).

Vizlib Sankey Chart

  • Nodes Width
Sets the node with of the dimension tiles.
  • Distance between the nodes
Defines how closely the nodes are positioned next to eachother (vertically).
  • Border Color
    Defines the border color.
  • Nodes Border Width
    Defines the border width.
  • Node Label Orientation
You can either display the nodes vertically or horizontally.

  • Node Label Font Size
Specify the size of the node label font.
  • Node Label Font Style
Specify the styleof the node label font.

Vizlib Sankey Chart

  • Color by [Dimension|Node]
When you color by dimension, the whole vertical dimension values will be colored identically. If you choose to color by node, then each single tile will have its own color.
  • Coloring Type [Classes|Gradient|Sequential]
    Nodes only
Gives you the ability to define how you color your nodes. With classes, each node will be colored distinctly, with gradient, you will be coloring the node based on its measure value. Sequential will color the nodes based on pre-defined range sequence.
